Slide iPhoto Exporter Tutorial
Want to upload some photos to Slide? You can always upload a file by dropping it onto the Slide ticker window. But if you use iPhoto, we’ve got something even better for you.
Introducing the Slide iPhoto Exporter!
Got Slide?
The Slide iPhoto Exporter plugin is installed the first time you run Slide. So make sure you have started Slide at least once before you continue with this tutorial. You can always download the latest version of Slide from our Download Page.
Select an Album or Some Photos
Begin by selecting the photos you want to upload to Slide. You can just click on a Album and those photos will be selected and sent to the exporter. Or you can pick and choose by selecting individual photos. Typically you will just click on an album, because iPhoto is a good place to get your photos organized, ordered, and edited.
File -> Export
Now, choose “Export…” from iPhoto’s File menu:
Choose the Slide iPhoto Exporter
Make sure Slide is the selected Exporter. Click on the “Slide” tab to select the Slide iPhoto Exporter:
Behold, the Exporter!
You should now see the Slide iPhoto Exporter. It looks like this:
Is Slide Running?
Your photos are actually uploaded by the Slide application, so Slide must be running and you must be signed in order to use the Slide Exporter. If Slide is not running, the exporter will ask if you would like to start Slide and sign in:
Choose Target Slide Show
The Slide Exporter can upload the images to any of your existing Slide Shows, or you can create a new Slide Show by clicking the “Create New Show…” button:
Creating a New Slide Show
Clicking “Create New Show…” brings up a sheet allowing you to name your new Show. As you can see, the Slide Exporter has cleverly filled in this field with the name of the iPhoto Album we are exporting:
Push the Button
Once the target Slide Show is selected, click the “Export” button to start uploading your photos to Slide:
Countdown! …
Slide will now begin uploading your photos. This can take a while depending on how many photos you are uploading and how fast your internet connection is. Slide counts down the photos as they are uploaded. The number in the green circle indicates the number of photos left to upload:
Hey … All Done!
After all you photos have been uploaded, Slide displays a notification window in the lower right corner of your screen.
Editing a Slide Show
Click the “Edit” button to choose options for your Slide Show. Transitions, Captions, Themes … it’s all there so you can make the Slide Show look the way you want:
Your Slide Show, Everywhere
After customizing your Slide Show, click the “Save” button to save the changes. The next page explains how to add your Slide Show to any web page including social sites like MySpace, Blogger, Xanga, Friendster, and so on:
Fin
That’s it! Go take some more pictures and upload them to Slide!

Hi ,
Is there a slide for panther ?
Unfortunately we don’t have a version of Slide for Panther. The only version we have right now is for 10.4.
And if you have any further questions, just visit http://www.slide.com/feedback to contact us!
I’ve followed your instructions, but when I choose to create a new slide show it’s not created. HmMmmm. I’ve done it several times now and I’m just frustrated. Also, I am signed in and my original slide shows don’t show up either.
I have the same problem as msgarcia. I removed the plugin, removed slide, deleted preferences, re-installed….same problem.
Same problem as MsGarcia and pcolag8r here. I have removed the entire app, etc as well then reinstalled, but can’t seem to see any of my original slide shows in the app for editing and when I create a new playlist or slideshow, it doesn’t show that I have done so (although the new playlist/slideshow DOES show up on the web site and can be worked with there)
Any new suggestions on how to make this work would be GREAT.
The program simply do not show anyinterface nor install a screen saver or export plugin.
the plug-ins was not installed, i repeat many times and nothing…, i can’t see the tab “slide” in my export photos in iphoto
my mac OS is 10.4.9 and my Iphoto is 6.06.
can you help me ?
i wanto to do a new slide show…
Your Slide iPhoto plugin seems to be broken. It does not auto-install at least for iPhoto ’08. I am using Mac OS X 10.4.11, with iLife ’08 (iPhoto 7.1.1).
I agree with Eduardo, I cant see ‘slide’ tab in my export photos in iPhoto.
